6-Week Mindfulness Meditation Class with Dawn Kim

An event every week that begins at 6:50 pm on Wednesday, repeating until February 26, 2020
Begin 2020 with an intention to bring greater awareness into your life, with an open and compassionate heart. This January, Dawn Kim will be teaching you the skills to cultivate greater awareness with compassion. This multi-week course will teach you how to bring more awareness to your moment to moment experiences, and how you can bring a gentler and kinder attitude towards each of these moments. In this course, you will learn the following:
- how to be less reactive in difficult situations,
- how to reduce mental and emotional stress,
- how to cultivate more compassion for yourself and others, and
- how you can bring more joy and balance into all of your relationships
Each class will include a meditation practice, teachings, Q&A and exercises.
Week 1 – Basic mindfulness practice: body scan and breathing meditation
Week 2 – Recognize your thoughts
Week 3 – Recognize your feelings
Week 4 – Accept your thoughts & feelings
Week 5 – Investigate your thoughts & feelings
Week 6 – Create space with your thoughts & feelings
BONUS: There will be a one-day urban retreat on Saturday Feb 22. This one-day retreat is an opportunity for you to practice all the skills that you have acquired over the 6-week period. It is a chance to practice more deeply and with the guidance of a teacher by your side.
