Our True Connection with Life – a Day of Mindfulness
September 29 @ 10:30 am - 4:30 pm
True connection goes beyond concepts. It happens when we are deeply in touch with the present moment. In moments of true connection, we are free. Free from regret, worry and loneliness. Deeply in touch with present moment experience, we are connected to life. Peace, joy and contentment arise naturally.
True connection with life can be experienced in many ways. We can be connected to ourselves – to our body, our emotions, our thoughts and even our awareness. We can be connected to others. We can be connected to nature – the sky, the trees, the moon and the sun. We can be connected to anything, including the paint on the wall or the sound of the streetcars going by. We can even experience a true connection with our suffering.
In this 1-day retreat, we will engage in practices that help us connect with life. We will connect with ourselves, exploring practices to connect with our bodies and minds. And we will connect with others – our sangha – our friends on the path.
We invite you to give yourself and others the gift of connection!
Please bring your own vegetarian meal that does not require heating. To be kind to the earth, please also bring a cup, plate and utensils.
We will spend the day practising sitting, walking, eating, sharing and connecting in noble silence. Noble silence is not oppressive, and does not prevent us from doing what we need to do to take care of ourselves. Noble silence gives us the space to make a deep connection with ourselves and others.
