Why Do We Practice as a Group?
In order for the practice to be easy and successful, it is very helpful to practice with others. A meditation community is called a “Sangha” (pronounced “sang-a” or “song-a”) in the Buddhist tradition. Being in the presence of others who practice is a great support and encouragement. With a Sangha, we receive inspiration and we profit from the experience, insight, and collective wisdom of fellow members. Without a Sangha, many people find maintaining their practice quite difficult.
