Wed April 5th: The Full Awareness of Breathing Sutra
Stop and ask yourself – right now, in this moment, how are you feeling? Become aware of your body and mind. What emotions are you experiencing?
Is there joy in this experience? How about happiness?
This Wednesday night class will be taught by Laurie. We will explore how to find and create joy and happiness, in our monthly class on the Discourse on the Full Awareness of Breathing sutra, one of the most important teachings in the Thich Nhat Hanh tradition.
We will study the 5th and 6th of the 16 practices:
5. ‘Breathing in, I feel joyful. Breathing out, I feel joyful.’
6. ‘Breathing in, I feel happy. Breathing out, I feel happy.’
We will explore the 4 sources of joy and happiness, and the difference between the two. We will learn and practice how to tap these sources to bring joy and happiness into our present moment experience.
